Midwest Type

Centrifuge is a faceted, wedge-serif with soft geometric shapes and sharply angled terminals. Originally inspired by manufacturer badges on old laboratory equipment, this family’s quirky but versatile design also looks like wood type or letter shapes used by engravers. Depending on how it’s set, it can be used anywhere from formal and elegant to funky and chunky. Centrifuge is suitable for small sizes and in short-form text and headlines but sings in an all-caps setting with generous tracking.
